Happy September, DSOC

We had a good turnout at the August picnic, and the renovated pavilion at Oak Park’s Shepherd Park is an excellent meeting space. Plus,  our 3-year-old granddaughter approves of the new play structure. 

We will meet this month on Thursday, September 17 at 6:30 pm at the Sheet Metal Workers Hall at 17100 W. 12 Mile Rd., Southfield. 

Charge up your phones and bring them to the meeting. We will do a texting blitz at the meeting—16,000 texts to Dems urging them to Vote Blue! This program enables you to send a pre-written text just by pressing “Send.” As soon as you press “Send,” another recipient will pop up and you press “Send” again. 

The meeting will feature endorsements for November non-partisan races, as well as info on the two November ballot questions— Michigan Money Out of Politics and the Constitutional Convention. We’ll hear from some candidates also.

We’ll have yard signs for candidates at the meeting as well, but I’m not sure which candidates yet.

We will also be mounting a major door-knocking campaign in the days and weeks after the meeting with our slate cards. More info on this effort coming soon.
